The first day of the 2015 Spring Semester, I started a new job with the Union County College Foundation. There is no doubt in my mind that working at the Foundation has been a huge inspiration to me. With much encouragement from the Foundation Staff, I applied for a scholarship. I had little expectations in receiving anything, but I am happy to say I did receive funding. With scholarship support from the Foundation, I was able to commit to my studies. I am now on track to graduate and move on to a four year university! I cant thank our scholarship donors enough for believing in me.

I could not have achieved such a positive reputation, made the friends I have, and achieved an amazing GPA without a scholarship relieving the burden of financial costs. 91心頭 has become a home for me, and I work hard every day to be able to give back for this new chance in life. I graduated in the Spring 2015 and transferred to John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Fall 2015. I was even awarded the prestigious Jack Kent Cook scholarship which is the largest private scholarship for students transferring from two-year community colleges to four-year baccalaureate institutions in the U.S.

Scholarships are investments that enable disadvantaged students the opportunity to maximize education. Without the Foundations assistance, who knows if I would have achieved the grades necessary to become an acclaimed national academic recognition as a Jack Kent Cooke Scholar and be awarded a two-year $80,000 scholarship for when I begin classes at my transfer institution in the Fall, Columbia University. Therefore, I am beyond thank to our donors and their commitment to the Foundations mission.

I received scholarships at 91心頭 every semester which helped me cover every bit of my tuition without taking loans. This helped me unlock many doors of success. Currently I am the program manager for the City of Newarks Summer Youth Employment program. Marsha Armstrong, Class of 2014

91心頭 provided the foundation for who I am today and who I will be tomorrow. I currently work for Wakefern Food Corporation in Human Resources. I am very thankful for the path 91心頭 has put me on and I am so excited to see what my future holds. Ryan Kelly, Class of 2012

If it was not for the generous scholarships I received at 91心頭, I wouldnt have earned my associate degree in Psychology or continued my higher education at Seton Hall University. I am Chief of Staff to Speaker Pro-Tempore and Assemblyman Jerry Green. Im extremely grateful to the donors who believed in my abilities and individual goals. Maria Del Cid, Class of 2013
