Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor
LockDown Browser is a secure browser that helps protect academic integrity by preventing access to other websites, applications, screen-sharing tools, copy/paste functions, printing, and other resources during an assessment. Respondus Monitor is an online proctoring tool that uses a webcam and microphone to record exam sessions and verify the testing environment.
Quizzes and exams in online courses at 91心頭 may require the use of Respondus LockDown Browser and/or Respondus Monitor. Depending on the instructor’s settings, one or more of the following may be required:

  • Use of Respondus LockDown Browser to access the exam.
  • Webcam and microphone recording through Respondus Monitor.
  • An environment check of the testing area.
  • Student identity verification.
  • Video recording of the testing session.
  • Restrictions on opening other applications, websites, or browser tabs during the exam.

Students will be notified within the assessment instructions if Respondus LockDown Browser and/or Respondus Monitor are required and should ensure they have the necessary equipment and software installed before beginning the exam.

If you are not familiar with CANVAS, the learning management system that is used for online course work, the Academic Learning Centers located in the library hold workshops for students to learn the system. If you are interested in receiving online tutoring, select the Tutor.com link within your course in Canvas. If you would like to receive face-to-face tutoring, you can visit any of the Academic Learning Centers to receive tutoring.

The Online Student Advisor can provide assistance with registration, adding/dropping courses, academic planning, and identifying appropriate institutional resources.
